How You Can Make a Difference
Gift Annuities
A Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) is a simple contractual agreement between a donor and the Priests of Holy Cross, Indiana Province. Quite simply, the Priests of Holy Cross agree to pay a donor a fixed annual amount of money for the rest of the donor’s life based on a gift (generally cash or securities) to Holy Cross.
The advantages in creating a CGA are many. Besides fulfilling a donor’s intent to make a difference in the world, a CGA allows a donor to make a significant contribution to Holy Cross during his or her lifetime, without reducing personal income. And, because annuity rates are generally higher than money market accounts or Certificates of Deposit, the donor receives a larger payment than these conventional savings tools offer. Charitable Gift Annuities also offer a host of tax savings, too, from an immediate tax deduction for the gift to tax benefits on the income.
